I've eaten at El Rodeo, pretty good. I've not really eaten at any of the others, like the diner that is always crouded (assume that it must be good because of that), driven past the BBQ place, seen some of the small places near the library. Anyone have any comments on any other restaurants in the area?

We ate at Old Va BBQ the other night, it was busy there. The food was good, but I was bummed out to find that the bacon bits which were suggested by the waitressfor our baked potatoes, turned out to be a dollar extra. Bacon bits should be like ketchup, a free condiment! If you want to make more $, just raise the entrée price, don't hide it in "extras" that should be included. Its a good thing I didn't ask for a glass of water!

Also they don't ever bring a check to the table with a total, just a diner style counter check. You have to add up all the little extras to figure out the tip. Lets get with it Ol VA - time to get a printed dinner check from the 21st century. If you are gonna charge prices like the big restaurants, its time to act like one, too.
