I've not really eaten at any of the others, like the diner that is always crouded (assume that it must be good because of that), driven past the BBQ place, seen some of the small places near the library. Anyone have any comments on any other restaurants in the area?

Comment on Howdy Folks!

Rocky Mount is the best. Franklin County is great all around. The sceneries are beautiful and the people for the most part, are very friendly and outgoing. I hope you move here soon and love this area as much as I do.

Comment on Howdy Folks!

My wife and I have never been to Rocky Mount. We did tour around roanoke and Salem. We live in Florida along the gulf.My wife is a Brit and had lived in new Zealand for the past 15 years.i took her through Virginia while going to meet my family and we love the area.Just through photos we have decided to move to Rocky Mount in the late spring.W are both very excited and although we have never been we have a good feeling about it.

Comment on Time to Eat!

We ate at Old Va BBQ the other night, it was busy there. The food was good, but I was bummed out to find that the bacon bits which were suggested by the waitressfor our baked potatoes, turned out to be a dollar extra. Bacon bits should be like ketchup, a free condiment! If you want to make more $, just raise the entrée price, don't hide it in "extras" that should be included. Its a good thing I didn't ask for a glass of water!

Also they don't ever bring a check to the table with a total, just a diner style counter check. You have to add up all the little extras to figure out the tip. Lets get with it Ol VA - time to get a printed dinner check from the 21st century. If you are gonna charge prices like the big restaurants, its time to act like one, too.

Comment on The Great Rocky Mount Traffic Jam

Good deal!
